My name is Wendy and I'm a second year computer security student at York Univeristy! I have enjoyed and explored programming ever since I was in grade 4, starting from when my brother introduced me to scratch. Since then, I have explored various fields, but always come back to programming.
I am proficient in Python, Java, C, and React.js / Next.js. In my free time, I have also been actively trying to learn SQL, backend programming, and cloud technologies.
Thank you for reading through all this! To find out more about me and to get my contacts, visit my site: https://wendyshen-2005.github.io/WendyShen-2005/.

FreshFarmily A Marketplace for Connecting Farmers to local Consumers
Every year, Canada looses over $ 25Bn due to post-harvest losses of fruits and vegetables, which represents about 45% of avoidable food losses across the food supply chain. These loses are in part due to the challenge of connecting farmers and consumers through efficient last mile delivery solutions. FreshFarmily aims to bridge this gap by delivering an intuitive web and mobile application that serves as a marketplace for all categories of fresh fruits and vegetables within local and regional markets. The project will focus on creating a seamless platform where farmers can list their products, buyers can browse and purchase, and deliverers can coordinate logistics. The goal is to enhance the supply chain efficiency, reduce wastage, and ensure timely delivery of fresh produce. By leveraging technology, FreshFarmily seeks to empower local farmers and provide consumers with easy access to farm-fresh products. This project will allow learners to apply their knowledge in user interface/user experience design, mobile app development, frontend and backend development technologies, and business analysis, ensuring a comprehensive learning experience.
