Development of AI-Powered Stormwater Management Plan (SWMP) Builder GPT Tool
Seeking a student team to support the development of an AI-powered tool that automates the generation of jurisdiction-compliant Stormwater Management Plans (SWMPs). The goal is to streamline compliance operations by combining regulatory research, AI prompt engineering, workflow design, and standardized template creation. The tool must generate SWMPs for multiple jurisdictions — including CDPHE (Colorado), EPA (federal), and select local agencies — leveraging AI for compliant content generation. Students will contribute research, prompt frameworks, workflow maps, and prototype outputs, working closely with industry mentors.

Stormwater Compliance Strategy for Urban Runoff
Research local stormwater regulations for a Denver-based municipal client, develop a compliance strategy to manage urban runoff, and deliver a roadmap with timelines and budgets. This goal specifies the tasks (research regulations, develop a strategy), the deliverable (a compliance roadmap), and aligns with ECS’s expertise in stormwater management and compliance. It builds on the previously defined objective, adding the deliverable to meet Polygence’s requirements for clarity.

5-Day Report Generator + Export Tool
Develop a tool for SmartComplAI to generate and export 5-day compliance reports. Learners will design a UI/UX for PDF generation, implement download/email features, and create a form-based editor using React and jsPDF, applying frontend skills. Platform access and design templates will be provided.

Stormwater Compliance Course Development
Learners will develop training materials for Stormwater 101 and Stormwater 201 courses under the Registered Apprenticeship Program, aligning with EPA, CDPHE, and Front Range MS4 permit requirements. Materials will support in-person or virtual delivery for up to 15 participants, covering erosion control, SWPPP fundamentals, BMP phasing, inspection protocols, and documentation. Templates and regulatory guides will be provided to simplify compliance tasks. Learners will focus on English materials, with Spanish translations handled by provided resources, ensuring alignment with environmental science or civil engineering skills for a single-discipline team.
